Jessica has worked for me the past 13.5 months completing traineeships in Cert II & III in Retail Operations. Today was her last day as she is leaving town to pursue further employment opportunites in Bunbury. I wish her all the best in her future career.
Day 12
The letterbox has been used over time to be the holder of good and bad news. It may have that long awaited “Cheque in the Mail”, a letter from someone you love or get cluttered with Bills and Junk Mail. Do you approach it with fear wondering what it will give you or are you the person that gets excited about mail in the hope of a rewarding find?
Day 11
Day 10
Day 9
I took the family camping this weekend in a forrest 35 kilometres from home. No phone or internet for 2 days. Within 5 minutes of arriving at the campsite we had two possums looking to be fed. I could get the camera within 2 centimteres of this fella’s nose and he didn’t care. After we went to bed they were fossicking through our crockery within minutes and trying to get into the food crate which was well secured.
Day 8
One of our regular tasks as ambulance officers is to transport patients from the local hospital to the airfield for transfer to Perth by the RFDS. Today we had two transfers about 5 hours apart. The RFDS do a great job in getting patients from the rural areas to the city so if you’re looking for a worthy cause to support, please consider them.
Day 7
Our first fortnightly grocery shopping for the year so couldn’t think of a better way than to start the year off with a bit of hot spice. Reminds me of the hot weather we have been having these past few days.
For those of you that might be wondering, yes I do go with Brenda to do the grocery shopping. There has probably been less than 20 times in nearly 20 years of marriage that we haven’t done the shopping together. Besides, it gives me a chance to sneak a few things into the shopping trolley!
Day 6
Last Thursday I attended a Priorty One Ambulance call to a tragic accident. Two days later the boy passed away and I thought this image was an effective way to remember him. The 2 candles in the background represent his 2nd birthday that he was to celebrate in 1 month’s time yet sadly never got that opportunity.
Day 5
As I was looking for my photo of the day this Stop Sign made me think about how easily we get so caught up with things. We fail to take the time to stop and consider what is worthy of our time. Taking the time to plan our day will generally result in a productive day. So next time you see a Stop Sign, maybe you will take the time to consider what is important to you.
Day 4
After a busy weekend in Perth and a lot of travelling it is nice to see the sun setting on what has been a hectic but fun time away. This is taken just a few minutes drive from home and for me is symbolic of the fact that I can sleep well in my own bed tonight and enjoy the serenity of the Country Atmosphere once again.
