Day 1

January 1, 2010 By Graeme 4 Comments

Foxes Lair, Narrogin

To start off Project 365, I visited Foxes Lair just 5oo metres from our house that was substantially burnt a few weeks ago. On reflecting on the damage, my first thought was a resemblance of 2009 – just memories of what was. As I look at this photo I see destruction but I also vision the new growth that comes forth after a fire.

Maybe you had destruction in your life in 2009 but dream about what 2010 can bring into your life. I will revisit this scene again later in the year to see what mother nature restores into this area as fire can often be the resurrection of seeds that have laid dormant for years.

This photo reminds me of one I took in 2005 while travelling to mount kosciuszko in 2005, there was snow on the ground at the time and I pulled over to take a photo. the fog, snow and the black trees made it feel like I had step into a wonderland.

Love your photo – you have inspired me to start my own project 365!

    Thank you.

That’s great Meredith and thank you for the comment. I would appreciate the link once you start your Project so I can watch your journey.

I love this Graeme, I love the meaning of it and how you will return there later on in the year and although the place is so damaged now, we will get to see the good that will arise. Great start to the challenge.

This picture makes me sad. After the horrific fires in Victoria in January 2009 and the bad fires in Toodyay in December 2009. Fire is such a nasty thing. Lets hope that we see more regrowth than fire in 2010..
