Recently I had the opportunity to photograph the musical group The Silvertones. It was a fun shoot and as they raise money for charities, I wanted to promote them in the local community.
The Silvertones (Maurie Stapley, Ron Arnold, Fred and Vera Pragnell and Mandy Mercer) have been entertaining seniors for many years and they love to bring a little happiness into the lives of others with their singing.
They have supported many charities and good causes over the years. Some of their favourites are: Sale Into Life, Riding for the Disabled and the Save Sight Foundation and they have given over twenty thousand dollars to these and many others including three thousand dollars to the Peel Health Campus Childrens Ward.
Vera our lady singer, gives the shows a bit of variety, she has a really nice voice. Vera likes to sing popular songs such as, Top of the World, I’ll Never Find Another You, Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps, Kiss Me Honey and Climb Every Mountain.
They sing 21 songs in our one hour shows. They also perform longer shows up to three hours. They cater for special events, anniversaries, birthday’s etc.
Their music is mostly from the 1950’s era. Red Feathers, Cabaret, Heartaches, Peggy Sue, Hello Mary Lou, White Sports Coat, Bachelor Boy, That’s Amore and MacNamara’s Band to name a few songs in their shows.
They have an array of fancy shirts and hats that they use in their shows. This just adds to the show as the audiences love them.
Over the years they have upgraded their musical sound tracks and song choices to make very enjoyable shows.
